Carbon Farming Outreach Program: Train-the-Trainer Workshops

Zero Net Emissions Agriculture CRC is supporting the delivery of the national series of Train-the-Trainer workshops as part of the Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry’s Carbon Farming Outreach Program.

A mix of one-day and two-day, face-to-face and online workshops will be conducted from 2026 – 2028, to support and increase the capacity of agricultural advisors to deliver information and advice to farmers and land managers on carbon farming.

Agricultural advisors will gain access to the information, resources, knowledge and skills they need to continue to provide advice during and beyond the life of the program.

All agricultural industries are welcome. 

Workshop topics

Workshops will cover:

• Understanding climate change

• Carbon farming explained

• The characteristics and metrics of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions relevant to agriculture

• Drivers to encourage reduction of net GHG emissions

• First Nations opportunities

• Understanding emissions

• Practices to reduce GHG

• Opportunities for sequestration

Who should attend?

These workshops are ideal for:

• Agricultural supply chains

• Independent and private advisory services

• Research & Development Corporations (RDCs)

• Finance and investment sectors

• Carbon project organisations

• Farming systems groups

• Natural Resource Management (NRM) groups

• Government funded facilitation programs

• Existing CFOP grantees and other advisers not previously trained

• Natural capital organisation

• Universities and research institutions
