Producer Demonstration Sites
Real farms trialling real solutions
Where emissions reduction technologies are tested in the paddock, not just the lab.
Living labs
Over the next decade, ZNE-Ag CRC will deliver a nationwide network of 25 producer demonstration sites (PDS) serving as living labs for testing and maturing innovative research. Spanning Australia’s diverse agroecological zones, the CRC’s network of PDS will showcase how low-emissions farming can be profitable, practical and scalable.
Each site is selected to represent a major agricultural pursuit, soil type, landscape or climate, ensuring that the research is relevant and adaptable across the sector.

What are producer demonstration sites?
Producer demonstrations sites (PDS) are real-world farms where cutting-edge emissions reduction technologies are tested and showcased. They provide a platform for collaboration between producers, researchers, and industry partners to validate solutions at scale and under diverse conditions.
At each PDS, producers work alongside CRC researchers to test and refine technologies in their own production systems, whether livestock, cropping or mixed farming. These trials are designed to validate research findings at scale, accelerate adoption, and build producer capability through hands-on learning and peer-to-peer engagement.
By embedding research in commercial settings, the PDS program helps producers gain confidence in new approaches, while providing the CRC with critical feedback to improve and tailor its innovations. It’s a model designed to de-risk adoption, build trust, and deliver measurable progress toward zero net emissions in agriculture.
